Prix Nobel de Physique 2013

mardi 8 octobre 2013, par Emmanuel HOURDEQUIN

Le Prix Nobel de Physique 2013 a été attribué conjointement à François Englert et Peter W. Higgs "for the theoretical discovery of a mechanism that contributes to our understanding of the origin of mass of subatomic particles, and which recently was confirmed through the discovery of the predicted fundamental particle, by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider" (pour la découverte théorique d’un mécanisme permettant de comprendre l’origine de la masse des particules subatomiques qui vient d’être confirmée par la découverte expérimentale du boson de Higgs le 4 juillet 2013 par les expériences ATLAS et CMS grâce au LHC (grand collisionneur de hadrons : quarks, antiquarks, gluons) du CERN à Genève.
